How to get to Silver Thunder Alpacas:

Click here for the link to the Mapquest page for 90 Jennings Lane.

Or use the following turn-by-turn directions (with landmarks noted) which will bring you in on the larger, easier-to-find streets.

(The following routes are actually a bit longer than the direct path, but use the more "trailerable" streets. We're trying to bring you in on the roads that are better marked, while avoiding those with tight clearance, sharp curves, steep hills, blind corners, or dangerous drop-offs at the pavement edge.)

If coming from the west or south
(from Nashville or Knoxville):

Take Interstate 40 (East) to Interstate 81 (North)

Take Exit 23, the 11-E, turn right (North) toward Greeneville and Mosheim
(Note: Avoid the “11-E Business” route at 11.3 miles from the Interstate. Stay on 11-E, towards Jonesborough.)

Continuing on the 11-E. At 18.2 miles from the Interstate (and about half a mile after you pass the new Super Walmart on the left) take 107 East (toward Erwin), turn right at stoplight (only goes right).

Go 2.6 miles to the 351 (South), turn right
(Note: The 351 is also known as the “107 Cutoff” and is at a right-turn-only intersection about half a mile after you cross the Kinser Bridge over the Nolichuckey River).

Continue 4.6 miles on the 351 (South) to the first stop sign. (This is the Crossroads, where the 351 meets the the 350. On your right will be a Sunoco station and the Crossroads Hardware store.) Turn left at the stop sign onto Greystone Road.

Go 1/4 mile to the first street (right turn only) and turn onto Jennings Lane.

Driveway will be on the right about 150 yards down the street at 90 Jennings Lane. Continue 500 feet down the long gravel drive to the house.

If coming from the north (from Bristol, TN or Virginia):

Take Interstate 81 (South)

Take Exit 36 and turn left (East) on the Baileyton Road (Highway 172) and head toward Greeneville. From here it's exactly 25 miles to our house.

After 12 miles, you'll get to the 11-E. Pass under it and turn left onto the onramp to head north on the 11-E.

After you pass the Super Walmart (on your left in 4.2 miles), follow the above directions.

If coming from the east (from Asheville, NC):

Take Interstate 26 north toward Weaverville. Take exit 19-A onto Highway 25 heading toward Marshall.

Take Highway 25 north and west, through Marshall, into the mountains.

After 21.8 miles, turn right onto Route 208 toward Greeneville, TN. In 3.5 miles, turn left at the stop sign onto West 208. (You change roads, but the name remains Route 208. By the way, scenery is gorgeous through here, with the road adjacent to a very large creek for several miles.) Continue on 208 until you reach the Tennessee border, at which time the name changes to Tennessee Highway 70. You've just crested the height of the Appalachian chain, and the road is downhill from here on.

Cross into Tennessee and continue on Highway 70 (also called the Asheville Highway). At 7 miles from the border turn right (only goes right) on Highway 351 North.

Continue on the 351 North for 6.8 miles to the first stop sign. (You are now in the small community known as Crossroads. Sunoco gas station and Crossroads Hardware store will be on your left.) Turn right onto Greystone Road.

Go 1/4 mile down Greystone to the first street (right turn only) and turn onto Jennings Lane. Driveway will be on the right about 150 yards down the street: 90 Jennings Lane. Continue 500 feet down the long gravel drive to the house.

C'mon over.
The critters are waiting to meet you . .
